NHL organizations are feeling the pressure, especially the Chicago Blackhawks, as NHL insider reveals the team is making a strong push to trade their veteran goaltender, Petr Mrazek.
With just 30 hours to go until the trade deadline, the Blackhawks are doing everything in their power to trade their goaltender,Petr Mrazek, prior to the deadline on March 7, as per NHL insider Frank Seravalli.
After acquiring Spencer Knight and the emergence of Arvid Soderblom, Petr Mrazek has undoubtedly become the odd man out in Chicago and it has been confirmed by Anders Sorensen that this veteran goaltender is no longer in the teams plans.
With an underwhelming NHL 2024/25 season thus far, Mrazek is sitting at a 3.46 GAA and .890 save percentage over the span of 33 games.
However, this 33-year old has a $4.25 million cap hit for next season, causing it to be challenging to move him from the Hawks' lineup.

To complicate this situation further, the Chicago Blackhawks have no salary retention slots available. Meaning any trade would require an organization willing to take on his full contract or a third-party broker to facilitate salary retention.
Despite Chicagos three-way mess right now, NHL insider, Frank Seravalli, released the Chicago Blackhawks are willing to give up Petr Mrazek for free.
In hopes to find an organization to retain this unthinkable circumstance, it is clear GM Kyle Davidson, did not assess the aftermath of his wicked trade.
