NHL superstar wants to join the Blackhawks with Connor Bedard
It has been reported that Elias Petterson may be looking for a change of scenery according to the podcast Spittin' Chiclets.
On the podcast, Elias Petterson of the Vancouver Canucks was linked to the Chicago Blackhawks. According to the podcast, playing with Blackhawks forward Bedard played a major role in his decision.
On the Spittin Chiclets podcast today, Matt Murley says he is confident Canucks F Elias Pettersson is seriously interested in signing with the Chicago Blackhawks.
He mentions Pettersson has serious interest in playing with rookie sensation F Connor Bedard, and the Canucks may not be willing to pay Pettersson what he wants in an extension. As a result of multiple coaching changes during his short tenure with the Canucks, Petterson may be ready for a change of scenery, and Spittin' Chiclets reports the Canucks may not extend his contract.

This would be a big coup for Kyle Davidson, as the team currently has $9.82 Million in cap space to sign the forward.
As Elias Petterson is still an RFA, this is a bad look for Patrik Allvin, especially if the star forward wants out.
In the 2022-2023 season, Petterson scored 39 goals and 63 assists for 102 points. The team would lose an impact player immediately if this were true.
Currently, Petterson has a cap hit of $7.35 million for the 2023-2024 NHL season.
