GM Kyle Davidson has made a terrible decision today by sending down forward Colton Dach to the AHL.

The Chicago Blackhawks have no need for Colton Dach's offensive prowess, as they have sent him back down to the AHL.
The move happened soon after they activated Craig Smith from the injured reserve. Who has been a generator of offense for the Blackhawks this season?
But he's never been a part of the youth movement in Chicago that has been thriving with the arrival of Frank Nazar, and Colton Dach.
This season, Dach has played 13 games in the NHL and scored 4 points ( 1G, 3 A) for the team.
While we're fortunate to have Craig Smith back from injured reserve he just doesn't have the skills and offensive capabilities that Dach has.
His production hasn't been that great either, as a fourth-liner for the Hawks.
In 30 games Smith has scored only 11 points (6 G, 5 A), and considering that Smith is a depth forward it makes sense.
But what would make more sense, is to ride the hot hand and keep someone like Dach in the lineup.
Someone who has a future with the Blackhawks, as opposed to Smith who will likely walk into free agency looking for his next contract.
Smith has been absent for 11 games recovering from his injury, while Dach has worked to build chemistry with his teammates, and has been noticeable on the ice everytime he suits up.
The veteran forward's $1 million contract will expire in 2025.
Whereas, you could immediately promote Dach to the NHL, and relegate Smith as a healthy scratch.
