The Chicago Blackhawks American Hockey League affiliate, the Rockford Ice Hogs, announced that Danay Grey has been named the new voice of the team.
Grey has been granted a 'manager' position, according to the IceHogs, and will be responsible for media relations, broadcasts, communication efforts, and media relations.
Grey took this last-minute job as the IceHogs' broadcaster Mike Folta, suddenly left the team out to dry as he took a job in the newest NHL organization, the Utah Hockey Club.
Grey was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and is coming off a season with the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL.
Graduating from Syracuse University, education has lead Grey to several jobs such as a NHL Lead, strategist, and a broadcaster for the media company Bleacher Report.
Grey will be making his Rockford IceHogs season debut on FloSports and the teams broadcasting network, 'The IceHogs Broadcasting Network'.
The Ice Hogs open the regular season against the Detroit Red Wings' affiliate team, the Grand Rapids Griffins.
