The Chicago Blackhawks were down 5-1, when Captain of the Blues Brayden Schenn, asked if Hawks Captain Nick Foligno wanted to fight.

The duel was one of the "old-time hockey" moments of the night, as Nick Foligno and Brayden Schenn delivered blows to one another.

Foligno fought with heart and would overwhelm Schenn, and while Schenn would use Foligno's jersey to deliver small jabs, Foligno would strike with the ferocity we're familiar with.

Schenn would soon fall, and Foligno's attempt to fire up the Hawks would later see Tyler Bertuzzi score a goal on the power-play, but unable to mount a comeback.

The Blues Captain would discuss the fight with Blackhawks Analyst Darren Pang of how it the fight occurred with 2:09 left in the 2nd period.

«I asked him. You look back on these moments in your career and why not, eh? You're squaring off at Wrigley Field at center ice against a tough customer,» Schenn said after the Blues' 6-3 win, per The Hockey News' Lou Korac. «You never know if you're going to play in another Winter Classic, so get in a fight while you're at it. You want the memory.»

While it didn't exactly turn out as Schenn had hoped, the fight will live in the annals of the classic event.

«Oh, he landed a couple (punches),» he said. «But I was walking down the stretch to the dressing room and I just felt like a UFC fighter or something. I was just walking by myself with a bunch of people screaming at me.»

Schenn would feel hyped about the event and honored he would get to play in another Winter Classic with the Blues. He felt that the fight in Wrigley would be the perfect staple to the night, taking place in legendary Wrigley Field.

But even after all of that, it was a friendly-tilt between two Captains who have seen a lot in the NHL.

Unlike Nick Foligno, Schenn has won a Stanley Cup and one-day, with Connor Bedard at the helm could Chicago?

The St. Louis Blues defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 6-2 in regulation, with the Smashing Pumpkins, and Chance The Rapper giving us the soundtrack at Wrigley Field.
