If there's one positive to take away from this season, it's that NHL legend Sidney Crosby doesn't have a great track record against the Blackhawks.
Crosby has been in the league since 2005-2006 and while he's played against every team in the NHL including recent expansions(Vegas, Utah, and Seattle) the Hawks are a pain for the three-time Stanley Cup winner.
Against the Blackhawks Crosby has just .74 points-per game against a team that up until 2023 rostered legends like Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews. That's just 14 points in 19 games against his Central Division rivals.
His recent track against the Hawks is meager not only cause he plays them twice per season, but in order to make up for the lack of production has to dominate other opponents after the fact.
While the list is short, for NHLers this would be a list of their dreams as while Crosby is less than a PPG against these Western Conference squads they're still really great stats.
The Blackhawks and the Penguins won't get to face off until April, so we won't get to see the superstars Bedard and Crosby clash until 2025.
This is a bummer, as it's always a great storyline to see Bedard play against his idol in the NHL.
But both games will take place in April, the Penguins will be fighting for a playoff spot and will not want to give up key games against the rebuilding Hawks.
It's been nearly three weeks since the Chicago Blackhawks fired Luke Richardson and placed Anders Sorensen in the Interim Coach position.
With Sorensen's leadership, the Hawks are playing some of the best hockey we've seen lately and could put a damper on the spirits of Sid the Adult in April.
The Blackhawks are 12-21-2 and 8th in the Central Division, while Connor Bedard continues his tear with 30 points in 35 games.
