However, ever since the three franchises have moved to the Chicago Sports Network (CHSN), it's nearly impossible to watch the games if you live in the Chicago area, as there are blackouts in the Wisconsin and Illinois area.
If you want to watch Chicago sports and you live in the Chicago area, you need to purchase a CHSN subscription, which is worth $30 per month for all three (Hawks, Sox, and Bulls), or $20 per month for one team.
If you don't live in the Chicago area and would like to watch the Blackhawks, you can simply just get a ESPN+ subscription for $11.99 per month. It's easier to watch the Blackhawks if you don't live in the Chicago area; make it make sense.
Blackhawks players spoke with Mark Lazarus of The Athletic about the problem with CHSN, and they aren't happy about it.
Jason Dickinson, who scored a goal against the Boston Bruins, said it'd be turning fans away from Chicago, and that it won't bring in any new viewers, because if you're a casual, you aren't going out of your way to watch.
Alex Vlasic, now one of the best Blackhawks defensemen, grew up in Wilmette, Illinois. He could flip on the NBC Sports Chicago channel because he had Comcast and just watch the games that way.
Nick Foligno, the Captain of the team, mentioned the struggles at home and the eagerness to do better at the United Center because people cannot watch them.
CHSN should listen to the players and end this mockery so everyone can go home happy.
