ESPN makes a glaring omission with a former Blackhawks superstar
It was recently reported that former Blackhawks superstar Patrick Kane was not listed on the ESPN top athletes since the year 2000.
Kane who is a three-time Stanley Cup winner with the Blackhawks and has put together an amazing career in the NHL while overcoming major injuries including hip resurfacing surgery that was done last summer. His rehabilitation went extremely well and well ahead of schedule which allowed him to announce he would return to the NHL and signed with the Detroit Red Wings.
His skills, athleticism and team player should have put him on this list along with all the other accolades he's acquired over the years including the Most Valuable Player and the Stanley Cup.
He has chosen to sign another year with Detroit as he feels there is unfinished business with the team as they were very close to making the playoffs last year.
Kane has played 1230 games, scored 471 goals with 813 assists for 1284 points and is a + 16. He was drafted in 2007 first round first overall by the Blackhawks.
