There's been another break in the Yzerplan, as the Detroit Red Wings have placed forward Patrick Kane on injured reserve.

The Detroit Red Wings are 7th in the Atlantic Division and need all the help they can get if they hope even to sniff a wild-card spot in the playoffs.
They had a quick resurgence once Head Coach Todd McLellan was hired. But now, the team will be without superstar Patrick Kane, again.
The team has placed Kane on injured reserve retroactively to when the injury first happened on January 21st.
The third time Kane's been injured this season, he's a step closer to retirement.
Being placed on injured reserve retroactively can mean that the Red Wings could bring him back into the lineup sooner; when he recovers.
But for now, they'll have to make due, as they've been without Kane for the past four games.
This could suggest, the Red Wings intend on bringing him back on Thursday when the team travels up north to take on the fierce Edmonton Oilers.
Kane's injury is another obstacle to the Red Wings success, as he joined the team last November and helped push the Wings closer to their goals.
He'd score 47 points (20 G 27 A) in 50 games with the Red Wings and show signs that his productive play isn't over, even in the Motor City.
And now, it looks like he'll have another obstacle to producing at the same clip this season, as he's only scored 30 points (11 G, 19 A) in 42 games with the Wings this season.
If he stays healthy, he could still produce at the same clip he would score 58 points this season.
