The Chicago Blackhawks fell 3-2 today to Matvei Michkov, and the Philadelphia Flyers in overtime.

The play was an overtime goal that happened in front of the net, as Travis Konecny connected with the Mad Russian, to seal the deal.

The Blackhawks didn't play poorly, but let up on the pressure they had built with a two-goal lead to start the 2nd period.

Lukas Reichel would open the scoring today with a goal with 8:31 left in the first period.

The goal would solidify the fourth line as a lethal presence in the game today, as Pat Maroon and Lukas Reiche would contribute the only goals today.

The assist would be defenseman Connor Murphy's 100th point as a Blackhawks, a career milestone.

Pat Maroon's goal would come with 59 seconds left in the 2nd period and would give Connor Murphy two assists today, for 2 points.

Richardson's Line Blender

It appears that Richardson's line blender isn't doing the magic he'd thought it would. Later in the game today, he'd move Bedard off of the same line as Jason Dickinson and Joey Anderson, and place him with Teuvo Teravainen, and Taylor Hall.

While Bedard didn't score a goal, it looks like he's working on regaining his confidence, he would take a few shots at Alexei Kolosov, but neither would deliver the result wanted for Bedard or Richardson.

It was another sad game for someone whose supposed to be the face of the franchise. At what point can we consider that the Blackhawks are harming his development?

He played 18:05 TOI, playing 18 shifts, and had a 28.6% in the face-off circles.

Yikes.

Something needs to change and fast.

Petr Mrazek did what he usually does, and that is carrying the burden of Blackhawks hockey on his back.

In the clip below, you see what the lack of defense left him open to:

He made an excellent save on an odd-man rush and would do his best to keep the Blackhawks in the game. Yet John Tortorella and the Flyers would find a way to crack Mrazek in the 3rd period, and OT.

Remember Nick Foligno's statement about the team needing to play well in the third? They faltered here and this is where the collapse began, with the Sean Courturier goal at 12:33 in the third period.

Mrazek tried to make a miracle happen today, he saved 34 of 37 shots on goal and came away with a .919 save percentage.

The Blackhawks now have a record of 7-13-1 and could've won this game if Bedard could've converted earlier in the game.
