Major Announcement: Chicago Blackhawks Host Goes Back to Roots At WGN Radio
The Chicago Blackhawks will have a new host for the Pre-Game and Post-Game on WGN Radio for "Blackhawks Live".
He's a familiar name, which we all know, and has been a Blackhawks mainstay for some time.
Charlie Roumeliotis was recently with NBC Sports Chicago, and with the exit of Joe Brand to Pittsburgh, he will now helm the radio as the voice of the Blackhawks on WGN.
Fans will be happy, as Charlie Roumeliotis will provide a continuity of great coverage for the team.
He will be there to provide extensive coverage, interviews, and analysis that we're already familiar with due to his time at NBC Sports Chicago.
Roumeliotis is excited about his newest opportunity:
«Growing up, I was an avid listener of Blackhawks' broadcasts, especially those with John Wiedeman and Troy Murray, whose voices and insights helped fuel my passion for the sport. To have the chance to work alongside them is an absolute honor. I'm thrilled about the journey ahead and eager to engage and inform the team's loyal fan base.»
Roumeliotis will be a perfect fit for WGN Radio, as we were curious what his next move was with TV Coverage moving from NBC Sports Chicago to the Chicago Sports Network.
CHSN announced last week that Pat Boyle would return to assume his former duties for the network, joining Caley Chelios, and Tony Granato.
Roumeliotis seemed the odd man out, and fortunately enough he landed in WGN, as a more than suitable replacement for Joe Brand over the airwaves.
