The Chicago Blackhawks made a splash in free agency this year, signing Teuvo Teravainen, Alec Martinez, and of course, Tyler Bertuzzi.

Well, Tyler Bertuzzi may have slipped, as he said that Nick Foligno gave him a phone call the night before free agency telling him that the Blackhawks had interest in him.

The following quote was on CHGO:

«Chicago wasn't really on my radar. And then, the day before free agency, Nick Foligno called me and he said, They're a little bit interested.' I was excited, obviously, about that, and then things kind of went from there»

Now, the big deal with that, is the fact that Bertuzzi was still on contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Meaning that Foligno broke the rules of tampering, and an Alternate Captain talked to another player from another team about coming to their respective team.

However, the talk around the NHL is that most teams and people did this, so the league probably isn't going to pick anything out of the water.
