While Kyle Davidson made a huge stink about players acquired during the offseason they've failed to produce up to expectations.
One place the Blackhawks could look for a solution is the Metropolitan Division, as the New York Rangers and GM Chris Drury are having a fire sale on veteran talent.
One of those available who is sure to gain plenty of interest isforward Chris Kreider, who could be an upgrade to Tyler Bertuzzi.
Elliotte Friedman dropped a report that GM Chris Drury was shopping these veterans after the Oilers defeated the Rangers 6-2 on Saturday.
Kreider is a top-six forward, who can play in the dirty spots on the ice, and has scored 30+ goals in the last three seasons with the New York Rangers.
q>Kreider would be a great linemate for Bedard to help set up at even strength and with the man advantage. He would also open up more ice for Bedard to use his lethal shot as well. It's something to consider if you're Kyle Davidson and Chicago's front office.
He's a great net-front presence on the power play and is the king of tipped goals, and 55 of those recent goals were all on special teams.
Not to mention he's seen playoff runs with the New York Rangers since 2011-2012, and has 82 games of playoff experience.
During that run he's score 51 points( 32 G, 19 A) and knows what it's like to be successful in the postseason.
While Kreider does have a 15-team no-trade clause, the Hawks would have to sell him on the fact he can help the Blackhawks grow into a competitive team.
There's been no word of the cost to acquire Kreider, but the Blackhawks have assets and talent to spread, including if that means moving on from veterans talent.
