Recently, Bedard was asked about his opinion of Macklin Celebrini's skills and his time together with Celebrini while they played together.
To preface both of them were only 8 or 9 years old when they played together, so to be fair I'm sure both of their memories from that time, aren't so vivid.
The last AAA14U Celebrini played for was the San Jose Jr. Sharks in the 14U AAA league. Before that, he played for the BC Junior Canucks in 2015-2016 and had 4 points in the Brick Invitationals according to eliteprospects.com
Bedard was asked today what he remembers about playing with Celebrini growing up in North Vancouver. He laughed they were only 8 or 9 years old the last time they were together.
"He was pretty good, I guess, but I don't know how much we were snapping it around at that age." Ben Pope (@BenPopeCST) March 23, 2024
It seems that Bedard doesn't recall much of their time together in juniors and midget leagues, however like Bedard, Celebrini is slotted to be the next 1st over pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
Will the Blackhawks luck into Macklin Celebrini as well? We can cross our fingers and only hope.
In 2023-2024 with the Chicago Steel in the USHL, Celebrini played 50 games and posted 86 points(40G, 46) and will be a firebrand for the next NHL team that selects him.
