Blackhawks game explodes into full line brawl against Ducks
There is always a sense that the losing team in a rout would explode against the winning team as their frustrations and anger will boil out of control. This happened last evening when the Blackhawks were hosting the Anaheim Ducks,
It became clear that the Blackhawks were manhandling the Ducks and with 10:40 left in the 3rd down 6-2, the Ducks decided to take it to the Hawks which led to a line brawl which put the fans of the United Center on it's feet.
Several players including Radko Gudas were in the melee. Blackhawks goalie Petr Mrazek was right in the middle of this and threw a few punches. This led to Anaheim goalie John Gibson to skate over, drop his stick and take on Mrazek.
The linesman got in between both goalies as they had words and prevented them from fighting. In the end the Blackhawks won the game 7-2 and 70 minutes in penalties were handed out between the two teams.
This brawl brought back memories of the old-style NHL where these were more common.
