The news of the expansion team's bids in Utah was reported as well, but there's another businessman who wants to bring more hockey to California.
Currently, Stan Kroenke owns the Colorado Avalanche, Denver Nuggets (NBA), and LA Rams (NFL) and is interested in bringing an NHL franchise to San Diego.
According to one of Stan Kroenke's top executives, when his group builds the new arena in the Midway, Kroenke is bringing the NHL to San Diego. @scottkaplan

Kroenke's Colorado Avalanche won the Stanley Cup in 2021-2022 against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
One can't help but think that Kroenke buying into another NHL team would be successful as he has won multiple champions in different leagues, with the Denver Nuggets, Avalanche, and Rams.
The current expansion team in San Diego is in the MLS, known as San Diego FC, and is set to debut in 2025.
The city was former home to the San Diego Chargers and home of the MLB Padres.
Will the NHL expand to San Diego next, in addition to Utah and Atlanta?
