Shot differential - It's not a good look for the Blackhawks. The Hawks had 22, and the Ducks had 41. That's 21 shots. They need to shoot more. We are centering it more, which is good, but there were so many opportunities where they could've shot the puck but chose to hold onto it. We cannot be afraid to shoot, because the more you shoot the more you're going to score, and have a chance you slip one past the goaltender.
Zegras's Trickery - Luke Richardson before the game said that the Hawks were going to look out for Trevor Zegras's trickery. That didn't go too well. 19 seconds in, the Ducks scored, and it was off his trickery. He flipped the puck up from behind the net, right to Troy Terry for the goal. So much for looking out for the trick plays Anaheim and Trevor like to do.
Jared Tinordi - Tinordi, right in front of his dad, had a two-goal night. He doubled the number of goals he has in his career in one game! One of them was a pretty nice move, dangling around one defender, being close to the goal and switching to the backhand to put the puck in the back of the net. The other one he just ripped it on net. Anthony Stolarz saved it, but the puck bounced by him after the initial save and Jared was awarded with the goal. That goal gave Chicago the lead and sealed the deal. A special night for him.
Filip Roos - Yesterday night, Filip Roos scored his first ever NHL goal, in front of his dad who came over from Sweden. He was put in and is making his best with the rotation of him, Caleb Jones, and Alec Regula. Chris Vosters, unsurprisingly, messed up the call and thought Roos was Caleb Jones. Patrick Kane passed the puck to Filip. Filip shot it, but it went off the pad of Stolarz. He then came in, pulled a Duncan Keith, got his own rebound and put it home for the tie game.
Arvid Söderblom - He has been amazing all season long. Arvid put up another remarkable performance, saving 39 of 41 shots. Fans were worried after he let up 3 goals and was put into concussion protocol his momentum would be stopped. After last night's game, we all learned that was not the case. Söderblom made multiple game saving saves in the final couple minutes. Even when the defense is rough, Arvid Söderblom has our backs.
