Kaiser played great hockey in the prospect camp this past year. You can see his passing skills and ability to get around defenders in the clip above. Kaiser has focused on his footwork, putting himself in good spots, positioning, and getting more involved offensively to better understand the game he needs to play to be effective at the next level. Through 24 games this season at Minnesota-Duluth, Kaiser has 11 points and is a +/- 4.
In terms of a timeline for a professional debut, Kaiser had some interesting remarks. "To be completely honest with you, I don't follow them too closely during the season.... I don't know if I necessarily want to have an exact picture. Maybe as I get there, see how things go or the coaching staff or different things, eventually that will happen and kind of slowly adapt into whatever role that I'm wanted in."
Powers stated that the Hawks will offer Kaiser a contract after the season and he would be surprised if he doesn't sign. Kaiser thinks that he is ready for the challenge and the Blackhawks could sure use his talent. It will be interesting to see how the situation plays out, but Kaiser should be ready to help lead the charge for the next great Hawks team.
