A bittersweet goal was scored by the Blackhawks captain.
Currently, the norm seems to be the idea of being open and transparent This goes for any business or even in politics these days. This also seems to apply to pro sports, as it's now common to see NHL teams announcing that they will no longer sign key star players.
This happened today when general manager Kyle Davidson along with Blackhawks ownership deciding not to sign Blackhawks legendary captain Jonathan Toews to a new contract next year.
After that news was revealed, the Blackhawks had one more game to play to close out this miserable season. They faced the Philadelphia Flyers and with the game down four to two, the expected happened where captain Jonathan Toews showed his talents once again.
Toews has had one of the most dreadful seasons in his career this year as he has battled his health with long COVID-19 symptoms and other ailments that have slowed his season to a halt. Since returning he has slowly been building himself back up to where he was before.
Even though this season has been brutal, it will be a memorable one as this will be the final season as Toews as a Blackhawk.
We thank you, Mr. Toews, for all you did for this fan base over the years of your career.
