Alexander Ovechkin is approaching 37 years old and has still continued to keep his high intensity play up even though he's aging, he does not shy away from throwing a big body check at any given time.
With throwing big body checks like these and being so heavy on the forecheck, there becomes plenty of wear and tear with it. Ovechkin suffered a shoulder injury right before the playoffs hit, and it kept him out for a few games.
