Niemi started only 37 regular-season games for the Blackhawks, but he gets the nod for his major contributions in a short time frame. After supplanting Cristobal Huet as the starter late in the 2009-10 season, Niemi started all 22 postseason games in 2010, and posted a 2.62 goals-against average and .910 save percentage to backstop the Blackhawks to their first championship in 49 years.
