The Chicago Blackhawks have made it clear over the last couple of weeks that interim general manager Kyle Davidson has power to do what he sees fit during the trade deadline.
However now it seems he might not even be around for the trade deadline.
Blackhawks CEO DannyWirtz made a pretty significant announcement on Wednesday.
Wirtz announced that the team will begin interviewing GM candidates this week.
The Hawks' CEO added that they hope to fill the position by the trade deadline.
It's not all over for Davidson though as Wirtz confirmed Davidson is a strong candidate for the job.
GM will hold all the power this time around as Wirtz added there will no longer be a president of hockey operations position.
