BREAKING: Player Banned by His Own Team After Homophobic Comments Posted to Social Media
The game of hockey has exceeded a lot of expectations throughout the past couple of years to become more
Many hockey leagues are still pushing to be more diverse towards many communities including the LGTBQ population. Unfortunately with all good comes bad.
The Columbus Blue Jackets affiliate team of the ECHL, the Kalamazoo Wings recently decided that they were going to paint their ice the colours of a pride flag, and play a game on it.
During their first game with the painted ice the Kalamazoo Wings faced off against the St.Louis Blues affiliate, the Peoria Riverman. After the game, forward Louie Rowe of the Blues organization tweeted something that was completely unnecessary:
I knew the Kwings were soft but I didn't know they were gay, trans and soft.
The player has been removed from the team until further notice.
