Former Blackhawks' Head Gushed Open After Puck Drills Him During LIVE Broadcast
We have seen some tough situations with those who decide to take on the broadcasting job at ice level for NHL games, broadcasters are left the same as the players are on the benches, no glass protection. But broadcasters certainly do not wear helmets and full equipment like the players do.
Last night the Ottawa Senators and Colorado Avalanche faced off in a thrashing 7-0 Avalanche win, and during the game former NHL'er, turned analyst Jamal Mayers got drilled with a puck to the head.
Jamal Mayers received 6 stitches and as expected ''hockey tough'', he was right back out their broadcasting the game.
Its not only the players that are tough, but even the staff! Imagine this was in a soccer game? You can put money on that players would be out for weeks until the stitches are out!
