After dismantling their team over the past two seasons, the Blackhawks have put themselves in the best possible position to secure the future superstar and face of the NHL. After his draft in late June, he embarked on a whirlwind tour across North America, introducing himself to the media and the NHL fan base.
Fans of the league have now witnessed a small sample of what he brings, and from a hockey perspective, he is fantastic. He will be a real gem for the Blackhawks. However, many do not know his personality and the other side of his life.
During the "What Chaos" podcast show, Bedard and fellow rookie Kevin Korchinski sat down to discuss how they perceive the Blackhawks organization and who the responsible individuals are. Halfway through his answer, Bedard revealed a love for musicals and mentioned that he watched the musical "Annie" as a kid.
Both Bedard and Korchinski, along with the host, shared a laugh as Korchinski admitted his lack of knowledge about the musical, which surprised Bedard. He also goes on to say that many fans and people in the hockey world think of Bedard as a robot.
The 18-year-old center has a personality and a sense of humour.
The Blackhawks will continue to showcase their prized draft pick when they face the Tampa Bay Lightning on November 9th. The game is scheduled for 7:00 PM Eastern Time.
