The Blackhawks have had their ups and downs this year in a season where nothing was expected except a top three pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. The tank was underway after Davidson decided to move on from DeBrincat and Dach, but Luke Richardson successfully instilled a "never quit" attitude in the locker room.
The Blackhawks surprised many people early in the season after going on a long winning streak, but have now seemingly met everyone's expectations after trading away Max Domi and Patrick Kane at the trade deadline. With 6 games left in the season and due to the Blue Jackets 4-3 victory in overtime on Sunday, the Blackhawks now find themselves in last place and with the best odds to land Bedard.
The Blackhawks last 6 games will take place against the Calgary Flames, Vancouver Canucks, Seattle Kraken, Minnesota Wild, Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Philadelphia Flyers. The Blackhawks have a 2 point advantage on Anaheim and Columbus, who are currently sitting in 31st and 30th respectively. As long as the Blackhawks continue on the trend they are currently following, Chicago will have the best odds in the draft lottery to land the sensational Connor Bedard.
