Blackhawks Fans Need to Prepare for the Withdrawal of Alex Debrincat

Blackhawks fans may not like the sound of it, but it is very likely that Alex Debrincat gets traded, and it could be before the start of the new season. However, if Debrincat gets traded, expect the Blackhawks to get a haul in return.

Over the past few days, talks of trading Debrincat have picked up heavily. A league source said, «I doubt Debrincat is with the team through next season.» Ever since then, Blackhawks fans have been forced to start preparing for a potential Debrincat trade. After trading a fan favorite Brandon Hagel, Blackhawks fans need to prepare to trade another fan favorite.

Luckily, it's not *all* bad. After the Brandon Hagel trade, General Manager, Kyle Davidson, made it clear that they are not giving players away for nothing. Davidson acquired two first round picks as well as two, young, depth forwards in exchange for Hagel. Hagel is not even half of what Debrincat is offensively. The Cat is an elite goal scorer and Davidson know that.

With all that being said, the best way to prepare for what looks to be a Debrincat trade is to look to the future. Perhaps the Hawks can acquire a few more first round picks and even a top prospect. The Blackhawks could even end up with a first round pick this year, and it could even be the second overall if they were to pull off a trade with the New Jersey Devils who have been rumored to be interested in the Cat. Trading Debrincat would be a tough pill to swallow, but it could mean speeding up the rebuild process.
