Blackhawks legend, Patrick Kane, was traded to the New York Rangers this February at the trade deadline. From there he scored his first playoff goal in years and had a good time with former linemate Artemi Panarin.
However, this was the last year of his $10,500,000 contract, and he is now a free agent. He has reveled some news on his free agency status, as seen below:
Kane will not sign a new contract until the 2023-24 season. He had hip surgery done over the off-season, but has been making a quick and speedy recovery.
This is most likely to give him more time for that process, and maybe because he just doesn't know where he wants to play hockey yet.
Patrick will have no problem finding a new team, as many teams probably already called him.
