Blackhawks Sign Major Contract With New Prospect

After a second explosive season with the Flint Firebirds, Chicago has signed their 2022 3rd round pick to a 3-year entry level contract.

Gavin Hayes, an 18 year old left winger from Ypsilanti, MI played in 66 games for the Firebirds' regular season. He scored 41 goals, and had 40 assists.

From 2017-2021, he played in the 13-16U AAA, had multiple goals and assists in every season. According to Elite Prospects, he is known for his talent in navigating pressure with quick hands and a soft touch. He also shows open-ice handling skills that can be developed, further, and is very smooth with adjusting his feet and body positioning.
