The Chicago Blackhawks tried to build a Stanley cup contender last season acquiring Marc Andre Fleury and adding a few other pieces but unfortunately that didn't end well, and now Blackhawks General Manager Kyle Davidson is blowing it up and trying again with a rebuild n
Davidson has traded away many of the Blackhawks key players but still hasn't found homes for Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane who are rumored to be out the door. However that's not the only ones he's been trying to trade without any luck as Davidson has been trying to trade the Blackhawks best defenceman Seth Jones.
However, Jones has a issue similar to Toews and Kane and that's Jones got a massive contract when he got traded to the Blackhawks a 8 year $76 million dollar contract with a $9,500,000 cap hit from Blackhawks previous General Manager Stan Bowman.
Davidson might be stuck with that as Jones new contract starts this season and goes to the 2029-30 season.
Jones had a good year despite being on a bad team, Jones got 51 points but according to Scott Power of The Athletic, this price tag is just too high for teams to trade for.
