This season has been like a bad dream for the Chicago Blackhawks, both on and off of the ice.

The Kyle Beach sexual assault revelations and Chairman Rocky Wirtz's more recent mishandling of questions related to it has been the biggest failure in franchise and even League history. The 'Hawks' play this season has left a lot to be desired as well.

With a 18-24-7 record, there is no chance that the team makes the playoffs and it's already become obvious that the franchise is in rebuild mode. The question that will be answered leading up to the March 21 NHL Trade Deadline is what the logistics of the process will be.

Three weeks ago, it was made public that captain, Jonathan Toews, longtime teammate Patrick Kane -- both of whom have next year left on their monstrous $10.5M per season contracts -- and defenseman Seth Jones are the only players in the organization who are not available to other teams. Today, on The Jeff Marek Show, NHL Insider, Elliotte Friedman raised the issue of Kane and the 'Hawks, noting that the star sniper has been asking a lot of questions of the organization lately in the media:

There's no question that there would be a long line of suitors willing to add Kane to their lineup. Yesterday, Mike Armenti authored a piece on hawksinsider.com which contemplated Kane perhaps being Broadway bound to join the New York Rangers. You can read the article here:

Could the Rangers trade for Kane?

What do you think? Does Patrick Kane remain a Blackhawk after the Trade Deadline?
