With the Chicago Blackhawks currently sitting in 7th place in the Central Division and 12 points out of a wild card spot they are going to be sellers at this upcoming trade deadline. Their most coveted asset will be former Vezina Trophy Winner and Stanley Cup Champion, Marc-Andre Fleury who is in the final year of his contract. With a cap hit of $7 Million. Fleury holds a modified no trade clause, so there are only a select few destinations he will be willing to approve a deal for.
A familiar destination has come up, as its being reported by Frank Seravalli at the Daily Faceoff that the Vegas Golden Knights, Fleury's previous team, has reached out to the Chicago Blackhawks about re-acquiring the goaltender. Per Frank Seravalli «Team sources say the Golden Knights have expressed interest in a potential reunion with goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury».
There is a lot of moving parts to do this with cap space and whether Marc-Andre Fleury would even accept a trade back to his former team. But if he is moved, the Blackhawks could see a significant return.
