Blackhawks to Induct a Legend Into The Hall of Fame at Tonights Home Opener?
The Chicago Blackhawks are set to jumpstart their season tonight with a home opener at the united centre where they face off against the Detroit Red Wings, multiple Blackhawks icons, including Hawks Hall of Fame inductees will be in attendance and honoured during the Blackhawks ceremony.
But could see see somebody else get inducted into the Blackhawks hall of fame tonight?
''With our centennial anniversary coming up, I think it's a perfect sort of deadline for us to get this in order,» Wirtz said. «Because if you actually think about the last three Cups and the amount of players that contributed to that and how to honor them but there are also some really important eras in our history that we've had amazing players and how we connect each of those eras together and make that part of the Blackhawks experience. We're in planning stages and I'm not sure if it will take the form of a Ring of Honor or a Hall of Fame or whatever it might be but I do think we will formalize how we recognize and honor our great players.''
This is the first time in many years the Blackhawks Hall of Famers were honoured, and to top it off, on the opening night ceremony.. could we possibly see a new face inducted? Steve Larmer, who has for some reason never been inducted into the Hall of Fame, who is fifth all time in Chicago Blackhawks points.
Stay tuned for tonights game..
