The Blackhawks were dealt some tough news today as top pairing defenseman Seth Jones will miss approximately 3-4 weeks with a right thumb injury.
Jones appeared to suffer the injury late in the 2nd period against the Sabres when he appeared to take a shot to his thumb.
Jones has 4 points in 8 games so far this season in which he averages around 25 minutes of ice time per game. This is a big loss for the Blackhawks as Seth's play on the ice has been very steady this season. It'll be interesting to see how the Blackhawks defensive pairings will change and powerplay units will be shifted in response to Seth's injury.
