Phillipp Kurashev of the Chicago Blackhawks has been playing through an injury recently. Several strange injuries have occurred to players, including dog bites, golf cart mishaps, and bagpipe mishaps.

The team played in South Florida this weekend, so Kurashev is playing through a jellyfish sting, a first for the NHL.

In Fort Lauderdale, the Swiss native was swimming in the ocean outside of the team's hotel when he was stung by a jellyfish.

The forward played against the Florida Panthers, describing the sing as a "little burn" and contributing to the team's most productive line that day.

With 2 goals and 4 assists for 6 points in 7 games, Kurashev has proven to be a valuable member of the top line.

«We're starting to get used to each other and [know] where each other likes to be on the ice,» Kurashev said. «You can read off each other like that. It has been working, and hopefully we can keep it going.»

As they continue to feed off each other's abilities, the duo finds themselves clicking well.

«He's really smart,» Bedard said. «He sees the ice so well. He's willing to go get the puck, and, out of the corner, making the quick play and just seeing where guys are. It's really impressive to see that.

"He's been a lot of fun to play with, and we talk on the bench about plays we think we could do. That adds on to the chemistry.»

So far the top line is providing a stellar attack for the Blackhawks.
