As the offseason begins, Capfriendly has released the nearly $82 Million budget from the season. With all standing contracts considered, there is $20 Million left to build up the team throughout the summer.

With the 2022 Draft approaching, and five picks left despite losing the first-round pick to Columbus. It is likely that the team will use the majority of the remaining budget to sign their draft picks, however, there could be trades or free agents that are acquired through the summer.

There is always the possibility of resigning a free agent to continue their time with the Blackhawks, one player to consider is Dylan Strome. Strome has been a top three scorer during the season, and could still be a valuable part of the team. On the other hand many other teams might have their eye on Strome, and being a seasoned player it would cost the Blackhawks more in order to keep him around.

However the biggest concern might be finding a goalie, as Collin Delia and Kevin Lankinen are both restricted free agents. Marc Andre Fleury was traded to the Minnesota Wild, and has preformed extremely well throughout his time on the Wild. Fleury, has stated that he is hoping to test his free agency, and take it year by year when asked about his retirement plans. Which raises the small sliver of hope, if Fleury would return to the Blackhawks.
