Elliot Friedman Reports Alex DeBrincat May Be Forced to Hit Free Agency This Off-season
As you know, DeBrincat was traded to Ottawa right before the NHL Draft this past summer.
You may also know that the Senators are struggling mighty with cap space at the moment.
Well, this new information makes things very interesting for
Alex DeBrincat.
According to multiple reports, the Sharks are shopping
Erik Karlsson, and the Sens are in play for him.
This creates quite the interesting situation in Ottawa, as the addition of Karlsson would force the Sens to part ways with either DeBrincat or fan favorite,
Artem Zub.
With the Senators being weak on defense, it would make the most sense for them to part ways with DeBrincat and keep Zub, who is a defenseman.
This raises the question, will the Hawks make a run for DeBrincat?
The Blackhawks got off to a hot start this season, despite their recent struggles, and have shown that they can compete with good teams.
Maybe Davidson should consider if the rebuild is shorter than he thinks and try to bring back DeBrincat.
Imagine the Blackhawks right now if they still had Dach, DeBrincat, Kubalik, and Strome.
