In yesterday's 5-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks, Patrick Kane scored goal number 439 of his career. With a shot from the point, while there was a lot of traffic in front of the Vancouver Canucks net, the Blackhawks forward managed to get past goalie Collin Delia.
After his goal, the former first overall in the 2007 NHL draft pulled out his old-school "showtime" routine. It's been a while since we have seen that from him, and the fans love it.
In his career so far, he has scored 1211 points in 1150 games, including 439 goals and 772 assists. Kane currently has a cap hit of $10.5 million and his contract expires after this season. The Buffalo native is expected to be traded at the deadline. Kane would certainly be a great addition to any contending team. The Blackhawks would certainly have to retain some of his salary to make a trade possible.
It will be interesting to see if Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane will both be traded before the deadline. The departure of both players could mark the end of an important chapter in Hawks history.
