''Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced on Friday night the acquisition of forward Phillip Danault and a second-round draft pick in 2018 from the Chicago Blackhawks, in return for forwards Dale Weise and Tomas Fleischmann.''
Weise played as little as fifteen games for the Blackhawks, and Fleischmann? That is one not many remember, which goes to show how awful of a trade that was.
Phillip Danault, drafted 26th overall in the 2011 NHL entry draft by the Chicago Blackhawks did not even play one full season in a Blackhawks jersey before management decided to trade him away for a bag of pucks.
One thing Danault did do in Chicago, was learn from the best centerman a the time, Jonathan Toews. Danault is considered one of three best two way forwards in the entire NHL, and puts up a good amount of points while doing so.
Last night Danault opened the scoring for the Kings with a nice goal.
That was not it though, the game headed past regulation to overtime and who other then Phillip Danault to make the pass which lead to a Blackhawks loss?
