Former Blackhawks goalie shelled tonight against the Rangers
Former Blackhawks goaltender Kevin Lankinen did not have the game he had hoped for tonight against the New York Rangers. Now a Nashville Predator, he has been relegated to the backup role to Predator starter Jusse Saros.
The numbers for Lankinen have not been terrible this season, in which he is played 16 games, with eight wins and six losses and one overtime loss. He currently holds 2.7 goals against average and a save percentage of .917. Not too bad overall for a backup goalie.
However, tonight was not the case. After the first shot was stopped by Lankinen then he preceded to let in 4 straight goals on four shots.
A few fans chimed in on Twitter, and they stated that the Rangers had scored six goals on seven shots and they have never seen that before.
The Rangers ended up beating Nashville 7-0. It's fair to say that Lankinen will try to forget this night and get back on track for his next game.
