NHL Teams' President of Hockey Ops Calls Out Players Who Refuse to Wear Pride Themed Jerseys
Brian Burke, the President of Hockey Operations for the Pittsburgh Penguins, has voiced his frustration over NHL players refusing to wear pride-themed jerseys, following San Jose Sharks goaltender James Reimer's decision to not wear them during a game. Burke, who is known for being an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights in hockey, expressed his disappointment and disgust with the players' decision not to wear the jerseys. He stressed the significance of using their platform to promote inclusivity and acceptance, and criticized the players for missing the chance to do so.
While the NHL has taken strides towards fostering a more inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ players and fans, there are some who will stick to their beliefs and religions.
