At one time former NHL'ER Peter Holland was a first pick by the Anaheim Ducks 15th overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Unfortunately for Holland he was able to secure a NHL contract and went overseas to play in the SHL in Sweden.

Holland is now in some controversy after an incident in the SHL, Holland is responsible for the end of Fredrik Styrman's career.

After the puck was frozen a scrum broke out, Holland grabbed Styrman. Before Styrman could drop his gloves or engage, Holland landed a hard uppercut to the face. The blow sent Styrman to a knee.

Holland was suspended by the
SHL for 4 games and fined $4,000 for the incident nearly not enough for the result.

Holland's punch to Styrman the blow ended his season but it gets worse.

Today Styrman announced via Sport Bladet that the punch has officially ended his career.

It feels awful that it ended the way it did. I still get concussion symptoms when I exert myself and the doctors have advised me not to continue playing.

I can't dwell on it any more. It is what it is. I don't feel sorry for myself. There's so much shit going on in this world, and there are a lot of people worse off than me. But of course I'll miss hockey.

While this is clearly just an unfortunate result, it's terrible though that this has brought the end to a players career but do you think the SHL should think about banning Holland or was it just a unfortunate accident? You be the judge.
