The big news for the Vegas Golden Knights, in terms of acquisitions was and certainly still is the clubs number one centre.
Jack Eichel finally got back to playing in the league after a plethora of different unfortunate events accumulated to keep the American star out of commission.
Apparently, his summer was spent acclimating to the Nevada area, as previous to this past season, he spent most of his time back home, or in Buffalo with the Sabres. He has still not purchased a home in the city of his new team. Opting to sleep on a friends couch.
With the real estate market being in a weird spot, the cost of living has increased drastically. That said, Eichel stayed with Boston Bruins player
Taylor Hall, at his home in Massachusetts. Hall has openly supported Eichel throughout the turmoil with the Sabres organization, so the gesture should come as no surprise.
"I know Jack is frustrated," said Hall . "Jack and I became really, really good friends during our time in Buffalo and I support him. I know he's gone through some stuff with the medical staff there and ultimately, Jack has to worry about himself. There's teams that they're going to, just like he said, worry about what's best for them. And Jack has to do what's best for him. And I know he's got an injury that he feels he can take care of with a surgery and there's a little bit of a disagreement. But I support Jack and he was nothing but a great teammate and friend when I played with him."
Is Eichel being cheap, or is he making a good financial decision?
