Kane has moved on from Blackhawks.
The notion of Patrick Kane returning to the Chicago Blackhawks has been bounced around the Internet for a couple of days since the New York Rangers were eliminated against the New Jersey Devils.
Kane expressed his desire to go to the New York Rangers as he felt the team was the best fit for him to try to win a Stanley Cup this season.
Now with the off-season in front of him, Kane will look at his options and decide which team would be the best fit next season. The Blackhawks are in a rebuilding phase and will be ushering a new era of players into the lineup. It's unlikely that Kane would want to return to that environment.
It's highly likely, that many teams will be lining up in July to speak and offer a contract to Mr. Kane as he still has plenty of game left in himself and would make an immediate impact on any roster.
According to cap friendly, Kane is finishing up a retained contract of $2.625 million. He will likely command a decent salary at the age of 34.
At the moment, it's too early to speculate which teams would want his services. There are still eight teams in the playoffs battling out for the Stanley Cup.
