Let's look back at the five most memorable goals in franchise history.
#5
Brent Seabrook's Game 7 overtime winner against Detroit in 2013.
I remember my dad and I both sitting on the edge of our seats, still shaking our heads over the horrible penalty call negating Hjalmarsson's go-ahead goal. We'd battled back from a 3-1 series deficit only to have sudden-death hockey determine our fate. It was a pretty sweet feeling watching Seabs blast it past Howard.
#4
Marian Hossa 2010 Game 5 OT winner against Nashville
I didn't start following hockey or the Hawks until 2008. After Patrick Kane's euphoric game-tying goal in the final 13 seconds, tying the game at four, the Hawks still had around four minutes of Hossa's penalty to kill off in the extra session. They were able to and Hoss more than made up for his ill-advised penalty, tapping home the game-winner. The series and the 2010 Cup run in general could have turned out a lot different without his goal.
#3
Kane 2015 Stanley Cup Finals Game 6 against Tampa
The 2015 Finals was as evenly matched a series as there could be. Through five games, neither team held a two-goal advantage. Kane's shot past Bishop with five minutes left gave the Hawks that 2-0 advantage and they would never look back, clinching the Cup on home ice for the first time since 1938.
#2
2013 Cup Finals Game 6 against Boston
Teetering on the brink of a seventh and deciding game to win Lord Stanley's Cup, Bryan Bickell and Dave Bolland teamed up for arguably the greatest 17 seconds in sports history, first tying the game then putting Chicago ahead with 58 seconds left. The only thing you could say is WOW.
#1
Kane 2010 Cup clincher against Philadelphia
There can be no other choice here, an overtime winner to snap a 49-year Cup drought. It doesn't get more special than that. Add to the fact, that there was confusion over if the puck actually went in and you have a truly unforgettable moment. One person for sure knew it was in. KANER. What a moment for the Hawks and the city of Chicago.
