Nazem Kadri suffered a broken thumb two weeks ago after a scary collision with Evander Kane, Kane was assessed a one game suspension and Kadri was sidelined while the Avalanche swept the Oilers four games to none.

Tonight, Kadri wasn't expected to play until news broke that he was practicing with the Avalanche's power play unit in full gear, a first in quite some time.

I am sure the Avalanche are more than happy that they sat Kadri as he scored the games winning goal in overtime of one of the most important games in this years Stanley Cup Playoffs.
