Massive News Strikes The Chicago Blackhawks Organization After a Tampa Bay Elimination
Although the Chicago Blackhawks are not part of the 2023 playoffs, there are still plenty of reasons to watch this team. One of the major reasons for Blackhawks fans to tune in is the Brandon Hagel trade. The forward was once part of the Blackhawks organization, but he was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning. Unfortunately, the Lightning were eliminated from the playoffs last night, but there was a silver lining for the Blackhawks.
As part of the trade agreement, the Blackhawks would receive a 2nd round pick from the Lightning, but there was a condition on that pick. If the Lightning were to lose in the first round, that draft pick would upgrade to a 1st round pick in favor of the Blackhawks. This is a significant victory for the Blackhawks organization, as first-round draft picks are highly valued in the NHL.
While it may be disappointing that the Blackhawks are not part of the playoffs this year, this trade is just one example of the team's dedication to building a strong future for the organization. Blackhawks fans have much to look forward to in the coming years.
