Matthew Tkachuk has recently been a hot topic name around the NHL, nearly immediately after Calgary Flames star forward Johnny Gaudreau refused to sign with the Flames, Tkachuk's future in Calgary was left undecided..
Just days after Gaudreau announced his departure from the franchise, it started falling apart. The teams second best player Matthew Tkachuk also announced he will not be re-signing with the Flames longterm, and ended up being traded to the Florida Panthers, upping their odds to be cup favourites for this upcoming NHL season.
