After a exciting season of hockey with 32 teams all battling to win the greatest trophy in all of sports the Colorado Avalanche would prevail being the last team standing.
The Avalanche would knock off the the two time defending Stanley cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning. With that said Avalanche forward Nazem Kadri made literal history. Despite all the hate Kadri gets from other team's and their fans including having racist comments made to him and his family during the playoffs.
Kadri would get the last laugh winning his first Stanley Cup. What makes that even more special is Kadri became the first Muslim in NHL history to win the Stanley Cup. Kadri would show true grit also playing with multiple fractures in his thumb not even being able to tie his own skates Kadri would battle to the very end and now has his name on Lord Stanley's Cup.
