Teuvo Teravainen found a home in Chicago and thought he would be with the Blackhawks for a long time. However, that wasn't the case. Teuvo was drafted 18th overall by Chicago in the 2012 draft. The first rounder was an exciting prospect for a team looking to climb back to the mountain top and reclaim the Stanley Cup after consecutive first-round playoff exits.

After making his debut in the 2013-14 season, Teuvo tallied 44 points in 115 games in a Blackhawks sweater. He was a key contributor to the Stanley Cup victory in 2015, scoring multiple big goals against the Tampa Bay Lightning and tallying 10 points in 18 games.

While Teuvo was quickly gaining the hearts of many fans and finding his footing in the lineup, he was traded coming off of a career high season in points. Teuvo was traded as a «sweetener» to Carolina with Bryan Bickell for a 2nd and 3rd round pick. This move confused the fans and players alike, leaving everyone wondering why a quality, cheap, young player would be moved from a team when the salary cap was breathing down their necks. The move ultimately came back to bite the Blackhawks, just as everyone predicted.

Since being traded to Carolina, the 27-year-old has scored 325 points in 411 regular season games. Teuvo has also scored 32 points in 48 playoff games. Even with the point production, Teuvo is still under looked throughout the league. Teuvo carries a cap hit of $5.4 million, which would've been a great deal for and would've potentially kept the Blackhawks' championship window open for a few more seasons. Chalk this one up as another horrible move by Stan Bowman.
